Association of Track Officials Michigan Annual Clinic
Positive Comments from the Attending Officials
** Material for Clinic based on the Officiating High School Track and Field book and PowerPoint presentation
•
Good material….I did pick up several new points.
•
I especially was glad for the “field” presentation. That’s the one I need to
review constantly.
•
Well presented, great information, and informative dialogue.
•
Excellent overview. As a field event volunteer, coach, and track official,
review is great.
•
Using the Johnson/Volz book as the background for the officials clinic was
a great idea.
•
Good to have the book and slides.
•
The power point was a great way to present the info and the hard copy
to follow it with was a great way to help the presentation.
•
One hell of a clinic. Not only for 1-5 year officials, but also for the official,
that has 10-20 years. A lot of work was put into this clinic.
•
The book is great!
•
The presentation was wonderful. Rob and Clyde’s book is invaluable
both to officials and coaches.
2010 New Mexico Track & Field Clinic
"We were presented the materials from Clyde and Rob by one of our veteran track and field coaches and our office immediately knew that the services and materials provided were exactly what we need to take track and field officiating in our state to the next level. The attendees of the clinics were very pleased with the quality of the clinicians and with the materials themselves and were glad that we have taken the step in the right direction to help our state grow and flourish in the area of track and field officiating. The book is outstanding and really outlines everything needed for track and field officials. All aspects of the program have been beneficial to our association and I look forward to seeing our officials apply what they learned during the 2010 season. Kudos to Clyde and Rob for their passion about track and field officiating."

"We had a meeting of the NH Track Officials Association Executive Board last night. I showed them the book and they all really liked it which is why we are placing the current order. We will give it further review but I think we are going to create an order form for all of our members at our annual meeting so I may be placing a larger order sometime in mid March. The Board, after quick review, found that it should be quite helpful to both new officials and experienced officials as well."

I am performing rules reviews for coaches on a state-wide basis this month. I am also attempting to do some preventative officiating with the coaches. I would like permission to adapt/use the "RULES ATHLETES SHOULD KNOW" on pages 54-55 of your book entitled Officiating High School Track and Field. I feel that if I give them these rules to distribute to their athletes and take a few minutes to review the rules with their team, that "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" and this may help stop problems from occurring during the regular season and at the state championships as well.
I will be placing another order for books sometime next week. I passed mine around at the annual meeting of the NH Track Officials Association, and had several requests for purchase. I am holding two more rules reviews for officials this week so I will wait until after this weekend to place the order.
Thanks for your help. I have received many positive comments concerning your book.
